Can I call a sub for my heart? Just today, maybe half of tomorrow. Not feeling it today. It's heavy and dim and I think someone else might do a better job. He's misused it, you see, and where faith ran free now it shakes in a dark corner waiting for the next fire to burn it up bright. Better make it two so it can have bed rest and soft words. So the face and pain can dry and shrivel, the blood can thin and jump. So I'll see you Thursday ready for another beating

Fitting in place at last
The letters take shape to words to make music that I've been humming all this time.
The lyrics make sense.
Hands integrated to souls
Into deep dates in an endless calender of forever;
Succulent in promise and affection is our tomorrow.

green grass, on my shorts, between my toes,
cool, cooler, shade draped on my escape,
motionless but the trees,
and a cut in the air of the birds next lyric,
silently stalking the low flyers sits a cavalier.
hat slipping, over eyes and motivation
a faint basement smell slinks my way,
next to a long line of jasmine embraces
and honeysuckling my fancy,
purring the day away
on a mattress of play and
sitting sway to the meter of forgetmenot but i already did,
remembering is for tomorrow.
